We are calling on friends and allies to put an end to attacks against Indigenous land defenders. The responsibility to protect our planet often falls on Indigenous communities whose territories are directly under attack by oil and mining interests. This is a dangerous responsibility that should be taken up around the world - yet, the most vulnerable Indigenous activists are targets of violence.
In December, Waorani elder Nange Yeti, was murdered while patrolling his ancestral territory. NO investigation took place for 3 months!
We demand that @LassoGuillermo and @fiscaliageneraldelestado properly investigate Nange’s death.
