Children's Mental Health
May is Mental Health Awareness Month—young children can and do face mental health challenges. In babies and young children, we talk about mental health in terms of their behavior, development, and relationships. This may look like extreme fussiness, crying that won’t stop, or tantrums, but can also be changes in sleeping and eating, poor weight gain, or delayed language development. If small concerns go unaddressed, more serious issues can develop that put your child and family at risk. The good news is simple things can be done to help, like spending a few minutes playing together, or offering a hug or comfort during a time of distress. Always talk to your doctor about any concerns. #MHAM #sdearlycarepartners
