EVERYTHING IS FINE

EVERYTHING IS FINE

Back for their tenth edition, Double Exposure Film Festival presents Vanessa Kjeldsen's short film EVERYTHING IS FINE. EVERYTHING IS FINE is a compelling oral history of race relations in Evanston, Illinois, focusing on the YMCA. There were two in town, one for Whites and one for Blacks. In interviews with community elders, we come to understand the love that people had for the Emerson Street YMCA, and the heartbreak community people felt when it was shut down and Blacks were told to instead go to the White YMCA across town, where they never felt welcome. Join us to witness this moving story in Washington, D.C., November 7-10. Find out more about the full 2024 lineup and buy your passes now: https://zurl.co/Ctxo
