Body Positivity Month
Our bodies are living archives.
They hold history of migration, resistance, colonization, targeted marketing, survival strategies, community care. They also hold trauma, stress responses, and the ways we learned to cope.
Tobacco use doesn’t happen in isolation. For many communities, especially LGBTQ+, trans, and communities of color, it has been shaped by systems, normalization, and chronic stress. What our bodies learned was often about survival.
Body Positivity Month invites us to expand the conversation by honoring what our bodies have carried.
We know that trauma responses can be difficult to navigate and even harder to rewrite. Change is not simple. It is layered. It is embodied.
But offering ourselves compassion, and acknowledging our autonomy to choose care on our own terms, is a powerful place to begin🌷 🪴 💓 🦋
