For 40 years, the National Trust’s 11 Most Endangered list has uplifted and catalyzed community-led preservation work at over 380 sites through a high-impact advocacy and public awareness campaign resulting in increased visibility and new resources to save and activate historic places for the public good.
Not sure what places you should nominate?
The National Trust considers several factors when evaluating a place for potential inclusion on the 11 Most Endangered list, including history and significance, whether there is a local group actively engaged in protecting the place, creative solutions to restore or revitalize the place, and the broader impact that the 11 Most Endangered designation might have to save it.
For the 2027 list, the National Trust particularly invites nominations for historic places that are facing threats related to proposed changes to Federal historic preservation laws and regulations, as well as historic places important to communities who are historically underrepresented within preservation. This includes, but not limited to, historic places associated with women, immigrants, Asian Americans, Black Americans, Latine Americans, Native Americans, Native Hawaiians, Pacific Islanders, and LGBTQ+ communities.
