2025 Attendance Awareness Month - FB
September is Attendance Awareness Month, which highlights the critical importance of students starting the school year strong by being present in the classroom.
Last year, more than 1 in 4 students were identified as chronically absent, meaning they missed at least 10% of school days. There is an urgent need for support to overcome the many barriers that affect a student’s ability to be present at school. At CIS, we surround our students with the support they need to show up to school prepared and ready to learn.
Thank you to our site coordinators, schools and community partners for meeting students where they are and getting them back into the classroom and on the path to graduation!
