Alberto's Journey: US Army vet’s resilience shines through 🏠
After serving three tours of duty in Iraq with the U.S. Army, Alberto returned home only to battle homelessness for nearly 10 years. He found it difficult to navigate civilian life, resources, and benefits but admittedly was too “prideful” to seek help.
Support groups at @SalvationArmy and @East LA Veteran Center helped him access disability benefits and other assistance, including a vocational work program through @VeteransAffairs.
Now, he’s focused on paying it forward, taking a leadership role in veteran support groups.
