Berit's Journey: From Darkness to Light 🏡
Berit spiraled into addiction after the traumatic death of a child and experienced chronic homelessness.
She went into Social Model Recovery Systems (SMRS)’ Royal Palms residential substance use disorder treatment facility and later its Sabina Home Recovery Bridge Housing. She also sought care through the Pasadena Council of Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (PCADD).
In these nurturing environments, Berit acquired essential coping skills and now enjoys stable housing as well as a new career as an @LACMetro driver. She looks forward to gaining full custody of her daughter, a toddler.
