Jake's Golden Heart Award
It’s impossible to overstate the impact Judson “Jake” Ward 33C 36G had at and on Emory. For more than eight decades he threw himself into campus life. <span style="font-size: 1em; letter-spacing: 0.025em;">Both as an undergraduate student leader, then as an alumnus while he worked in education and served in the US Army during World War II. Afterwards, Ward made his way back to Emory, spending the next six decades on campus in leadership. He began as a professor of Georgia history and ended his service with almost a quarter of a century as Dean of Alumni. (Legend says he never forgot a name.) </span><div><span style="font-size: 1em; letter-spacing: 0.025em;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-size: 1em; letter-spacing: 0.025em;">Dean Ward saw Emory grow from a regional university to the world class institution it is today. And, he had a hand in so much of it, embodying all that makes our school wonderful. </span></div><div><span style="font-size: 1em; letter-spacing: 0.025em;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-size: 1em; letter-spacing: 0.025em;">So much so, that we named an award after him called The Jake’s Golden Heart Award. </span></div><div><span style="font-size: 1em; letter-spacing: 0.025em;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-size: 1em; letter-spacing: 0.025em;">Could you help us give it away? The criteria are pretty wonderful.
