In 2023 in Cape Town, South Africa, more than 1,000 stakeholders from around the world will come together to accelerate solutions to improve maternal and newborn survival and prevent stillbirths.
Together, a coordinated and inclusive approach will serve to implement stronger data-driven, evidence-based and respectful health care for mother and baby, particularly in low-resource settings. By nurturing collaborative relationships, sharing learning and effective implementation experiences, and aligning our approach and metrics, together, we will embrace a healthy and equitable future in which mothers and newborns not only survive but thrive.

Why is prevention and clinical management important to drive global progress in maternal and newborn health and the prevention of stillbirths?
Find out from this month's #IMNHC2023 partners @E4AMamaYeAfrica, @FIGOHQ and @world_midwives, and compiled by @AlignMNH! https://bit.ly/3YaVDmN
This recent report from #IMNHC2023 partner @E4AMamaYeAfrica presents findings that show how a community Maternal and Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response (c-MPDSR) model helped change #MNH care-seeking behaviors change in Kaduna State, Nigeria. http://bit.ly/3m0KIPg
Maternal and perinatal deaths occurring outside health facilities often go unaccounted for. Community-MPDSR models aim to identify, document and audit such deaths regardless of where they occur. @E4AMamaYeAfrica share lessons for implementation: http://bit.ly/3Ys1ZhI #IMNHC2023
In Kaduna State, Nigeria, #IMNHC2023 partner @E4AMamaYeAfrica's MPDSR model brings communities together for verbal and social autopsies to analyze factors that may have contributed to a maternal or newborn death. Read the story behind this approach: http://bit.ly/3Y0ewZH
This month's #IMNHC2023 thought partners @FIGOHQ and @world_midwives outline 'generic #PostpartumHaemorrhage (PPH) protocol and care pathways', as PPH remains one of the largest causes of maternal death.
