This summer, we are celebrating National Community Health Worker (CHW) Awareness Week by increasing awareness and support for CHWs in the U.S. Congress. On July 23, Congressman Raul Ruiz and Senator Ron Wyden introduced a Congressional Resolution formally recognizing August 25-29, 2025 as National CHW Awareness Week. This resolution acknowledges and celebrates the essential role CHWs play in promoting public health and advancing health equity.
National Community Health Worker Awareness Week, created and led by NACHW since 2023, aims to encourage CHWs and allies across the United States to celebrate, commemorate, and collaborate with each other and to raise awareness of the diversity of the CHW profession, workforce, and movement.
This year, organizations across the country will host events, workshops, and outreach activities to increase awareness and engagement among communities and decision-makers. Explore and share the social toolkit below to help elevate the CHW workforce and show your support.
