Three decades ago, more than 20,000 Americans raised their right hands and pledged to get things done for America. These members helped more than 1,000 communities nationwide during their first year of service. Since then, more than 1.25 million Americans and hundreds of thousands more AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers of all backgrounds have followed in their footsteps, providing billions of hours of results-driven service across each of the 50 states and US territories.
In times of tragedy and triumph, when America calls, AmeriCorps answers. Whether it’s AmeriCorps members stepping forward to help after 9/11, aiding in recovery from disasters like Hurricane Katrina over the course of decades, or pivoting to address the urgent needs created by the COVID-19 pandemic, AmeriCorps knows how to get things done for America and has been turning moments of impact into a national service movement for three decades.
Share AmeriCorps’ impact and stories. Through op-eds, letters to the editor, or other communications channels, highlight the impact of the work these members do in your community. Share videos, photos, and posts on social media about AmeriCorps or your own experience throughout the year to help encourage the next generation of AmeriCorps members. You also can share your story on AmeriCorps.gov/ShareYourStory.
Brand your events. Brand your induction and graduation ceremonies, and other events as part of the 30th anniversary celebration. Look for guidance on how to use our special edition 30th anniversary wordmark in the communication resources. AmeriCorps also can help amplify your event. Be sure to register your events so we have the details.
Host an "honorary AmeriCorps member". Invite media, an elected official, a community leader, a school principal, an AmeriCorps alumnus, or other local dignitary to see AmeriCorps in action by becoming an honorary AmeriCorps member or AmeriCorps Seniors volunteer or by participating in a site visit.
Leverage our monthly ‘themes’. To help highlight the incredible impact AmeriCorps programs create, the 30th anniversary celebrations will spotlight key areas of service each month. Use this opportunity to lift up the important work your organization is doing in these areas. The agency will provide messaging for each month. For the launch, please use the 'Key Messaging' document in the Communication Resources section below.
Help inspire more to serve. Help us tell the AmeriCorps story and encourage more people to meet the urgent needs of communities across America through national service. Use the AmeriCorps Recruitment toolkit for recruitment materials.
Don't forget to share your state's latest National Service Report, reflecting the profound impact AmeriCorps programs, members, and volunteers make to change and improve countless lives through the power of service. Use these reports and graphics to celebrate your state/territory throughout the year.

National Service Reports 2024
Description
Each year, more than 200,000 AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers prepare today’s students for tomorrow’s jobs, connect veterans to services, fight the opioid epidemic, help seniors live independently, rebuild communities after disasters, and lead conservation and climate change efforts.
The 2024 National Service Reports calculate the financial investment by AmeriCorps in each state and territory across the nation. These profiles paint a complete picture of the location of national service projects in each state, as well as how many AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers are serving at each site.
These state reports demonstrate the scope of AmeriCorps presence throughout the nation. The agency’s programs are in more than 36,000 locations including in urban, rural, and tribal communities. AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers are placed at nonprofit, faith-based, municipal and community-based organizations.
Data shown represents national service activity completed between January 20, 2023 and January 19, 2024. To view the 2024 National Service Reports by state, visit AmeriCorps.gov/NationalServiceReports.
