As the first high school in Rhode Island to implement the Get Food Smart program, our team at Chariho Regional School District is dedicated to a greener future! The program aims to take the food waste and divert it from its typical destination — a landfill — and instead make it available for use as compost to regenerate soil. With the help of student interns, Chariho has reduced their lunch period waste from eight bags to just one!
