Focus On Campaign

Introduction

The Washington State Health Care Authority launched the Focus On campaign to prevent underage drinking among high school teens and inspire them to keep alcohol out of the picture like four out of five Washington teens do. The campaign spotlights positive social norms, offers information about the risks and consequences of underage drinking in ways that are relevant for youth, outlines refusal skills, and encourages teens to choose healthy ways to deal with stress, anxiety, and boredom.

What you’ll find in this toolkit

Partners are encouraged to promote messages and assets from the Focus On campaign. This toolkit contains background information and resources about the campaign, as well as materials and content partners can share on their social media channels to encourage teens to keep alcohol and other drugs out of the picture.

Ways you can help promote the campaign:

  1. Share Facebook, Instagram social posts, and link to www.FocusOnYouWA.org on your organization's website and social media channels. You will find copy, images, and videos for you to share on channels that reach youth.
  2. Prepare your staff to talk about the Focus On campaign and provide the facts. You can find talking points and a backgrounder document available to download so you can share with your staff.
