Sí se pudo! Last week, the Los Angeles City Council voted 12-3 to approve an Olympic Wage for tourism workers!
This is a historic victory -- It will be the highest living wage in the nation!
Under this ordinance workers will receive $30.00/hr by July 1st 2028 and receive a health payment of $8.35/hr by July 1st 2025 increasing yearly with the cost of healthcare.
Thank you to the council members who voted yes and stood with tourism workers!
Let's bring this home in the new year!

I stand in solidarity with fasting tourism workers! Right now, tourism workers are making the collective sacrifice to fast for 3 days ahead of L.A. City Council’s vote on the Olympic Wage on Dec 11. They’re taking action to shed light on the urgency of raising the wage so they can feed their families and make sure they are healthy and housed!
L.A.’s thriving tourism industry will only continue to grow as we get ready for the 2026 World Cup and 2028 Olympics and Paralympics. Meanwhile, L.A.’s tourism workers can’t afford basic necessities and are being priced out of the neighborhoods where they work. Join us!
Tourism workers in Los Angeles have been fighting for an Olympic Wage for over a year and a half now which would raise the wage to $25 immediately and to $30 by the Olympics and Paralympics in 2028.

With the rising cost of housing and healthcare, especially during this holiday season, workers are forced to choose between feeding their families or keeping them housed. Tourism workers have taken the step of participating in the fast to call attention to their dire circumstances. We need L.A. City Council to stand with working families and pass an #OlympicWageNOW
