The Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) and the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) partnered to develop Not A Moment Wasted, an alcohol and marijuana prevention website for college students ages 18 to 20.
Social pressure, boredom, perceived norms, and expectations around partying or experimenting during this time all play a role in underage substance use. The website meets young adults where they are by acknowledging these realities; providing coping strategies to manage emotions; offering refusal skills and healthier alternatives to relieve stress, boredom, and anxiety; and outlining the risks of underage alcohol and marijuana use.
This Not A Moment Wasted toolkit consists of three prevention campaigns including:
Partners like you are critical to reducing underage drinking and marijuana use, and helping young adults find healthy ways to cope with stress and anxiety. We’ve developed this toolkit to make participation in the campaigns easier.
