Get a map and plan exit routes. It’s important to have backups in case of road closures or unexpected changes in conditions.

Smoke can be just as dangerous as the fire itself.
If there is a lot of smoke in your area, stay indoors as much as possible! TIP: If you have to go outdoors, wear a mask that will protect you from the smoke.

Stay prepared in case of power outages by locating your flashlights, charging your devices, and remembering to only use generators outside, more than 20 feet away from your home, doors, and windows.

Even on sunny and hot days, water can still be very cold.
If you are near water with children, watch them very closely, even if no one is swimming. Make sure that an adult is always watching them.

It is hot out there, California! When temperatures are very high, make sure to:
✅Stay hydrated.
✅Wear lightweight clothing and a hat outdoors.
