Now, President Trump's FY26 budget proposes eliminating AmeriCorps entirely. Even more alarming, the House Appropriations Committee has advanced a bill slashing AmeriCorps funding by more than 50% - a move that would eliminate tens of thousands of service positions and strip communities of critical support in education, disaster response, public health, and more.
