Election processes in the US are governed/administered by state & local election officials who:
• manage & secure election infrastructure
• administer statewide voter registration databases
• provide training for election workers
• make sure voting equipment is accurate
The Help America Vote Act (HAVA) was passed with overwhelming bipartisan support & was signed into law on Oct. 29, 2002 by George W. Bush.
HAVA made administrative changes, set requirements & guidelines for voting equipment, & provided funding to support these changes.
Milestones in technology:
1994 • 1st e-commerce transaction
1996 • Microsoft teams w/NBC for Decision '96 website
1996 • 1st presidential campaign websites
1998 • 1st online political donation
2000 • 1st podcast distro through RSS
2000 • Google debuts Google Ad Words
The first political campaigns to utilize the internet were President Clinton’s & Republican nominee Bob Dole’s in 1996. The advent of social media in the early 2000s transformed how candidates communicated with voters.

Have you 👂/👀 the term "grassroots organizing" but wonder what it means? We got you.
Grassroots organizing is a method of mobilization that comes from the ground up — everyday people come together to address an issue in their community and take action to advocate for change.
"Why vote? Nothing changes."
You guarantee that nothing will change if you don't vote your voice. Create the change you want to see! Get others in your community excited to join you. There is power in numbers. Make a plan to vote on or before Nov 8.

One way you can get involved in local politics is to
volunteer on nonpartisan voter registration drives that aren't affiliated with any specific candidate; they simply register voters for local elections. You can also volunteer at a polling place on election day.
#getlocal
Community organizing can bring about social change for disadvantaged groups, improve community decision-making, reduce crime, improve safety & public health, spur local economies, & more.
Organizers can achieve great change at the local or even national level.

The phrase "grassroots and boots" was thought to have been coined by Republican Sen. Albert J. Beveridge of Indiana, who said of the Progressive Party in 1912, "This party has come from the grass roots. It has grown from the soil of people's hard necessities". #themoreyouknow

Every state provides some method whereby voters can cast ballots without visiting a physical polling place. The terms absentee voting, voting by mail, all-mail voting, or voting from home are used to describe these methods.
Visit vote.org/absentee-voting-rules/ to check your options!
Request-required mail-in ballot systems require that eligible voters initiate the process for receiving, and casting, mail-in ballots. These have been described as absentee voting systems. Access to mail-in voting may be restricted to voters meeting certain eligibility criteria.
